CONAN TRAILER: But where’s Conan?
Monday, May 2nd, 2011We honestly didn’t give a geek’s goddam about this movie until we saw Momoa in Game of Thrones. We know he was in Stargate, but after seeing him essentially play Conan for HBO on the small screen, we’re pretty sure he can do it for Lionsgate on the big screen, too.
But it’s not like you’d know that from this trailer that he’s hardly in.

DEATHLY HALLOWS 1 REVIEW: The Death Eaters Strike Back
Wednesday, November 24th, 2010Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 is easily the darkest film in the series, but as half a movie, it’s tough to judge on its own merit. We both loved it to death, but we’ve also BOTH read all the books at this point. What did you think?

ECLIPSE REVIEW: Wait… Matt… LIKED it?
Friday, July 16th, 2010As a film and as an adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s bestselling tween romance novels, Eclipse’s director, David Slade, most certainly out-did either of his predecessors. While the love story remains intact to satisfy Nat’s need for any angsty werewolf/vampire/human love triangle, Matt appreciated the clear effort taken to attract a male audience by adding a dark and more violent visual style, that was clearly riffing on actual horror elements for the first time in the series.

Friday, May 21st, 2010After 14 video games and over two decades, the Prince of Persia is getting his own movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina. And with Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer on board, the bar is set pretty high for action, comedy, romance and adventure. ROBIN HOOD REVIEW: Hold on… That Wasn’t Robin Hood!
Tuesday, May 18th, 2010Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe make a great team. Just look at Gladiator. Really. We mean it, skip Robin Hood and just go watch Gladiator. This movie is so BARELY a story of Robin Hood, it hardly deserves the name, and winds up being little more than a re-tread of Scott’s previous epic work. Everyone phoned it in on this one, folks; don’t waste your time.
