When a $15,000 indie film rakes in $7.1-million by being called the most terrifying film in years, it definitely gets our attention. So when Paranormal Activity had an exclusive screening in Toronto, we made sure we had tickets! And sure enough, we were treated to more than just horror… we got true terror. We review it spoiler free at first, so take an advanced look at what might be the scariest thing you’ll ever see!

Columbus wasn’t kidding when he said Zombieland is moist, but we enjoyed the hell out of Ruben Fleischer’s debut ride! Between Jesse Eisenberg’s coy hero and Woody Harrelson’s crass maverick, we got our fill of every kind of Zombie kill you can imagine. And that’s not even considering the monster awesome cameo in the middle. But what did YOU think of your adventure through Zombieland?

Did Bruce Willis and Jonathan Mostow do justice to the critically acclaimed five-part comic written by Robert Venditti? You already know from the trailers that the stakes have gone up from the comic plot: now the operators die as well when the surrogates are fried. But did that ruin the entire motivation of “Steeplejack”? Or does this change in the plot give a whole new and higher message to Surrogates? Check out our review, it’s Spoiler-free at first and then quite Spoileriffic as we examine Surrogates as a standalone film, and then as an adaptation.

Maybe it’s because Matt is such a Spaghetti Western fan. Maybe it’s because Nat was so taken by Christoph Waltz deliciously evil performance. Maybe it’s simply the incredible 2.5 hours of brilliant film making. But one way or another, we both loved Basterds more than any other Tarantino we’ve ever seen. The Midnight Screening was completely packed, and the crowd was into every word. What about you? We hope you get a kick out of our review, but what did you think of Inglourious Basterds?

Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp have brought us what might be the most significant modern Sci-Fi movie, but have definitely made one of the best movies of 2009. With great characters, an amazing alternate reality, plus social commentary and action to spare, District 9 is a must-see film for geeks and movie-lovers alike!

If you have a chance to track down a theatre playing this award winning Korean Vampire film from the Director of Old Boy, you will not be disappointed. Graphic and visceral in every way, Thirst, or Bakjwi, blew our minds with the realism that the story was grounded in, and the depths to which the characters could sink.

Dear sweet lord… this was seven shades of atrocious, and we’re not even sure where to begin. Not even Destro and Cobra Commander could save it. In fact, they might be Matt’s most hated part of the entire film. Or was it the American Good-guy Baroness? Or maybe the terrible lead actors? No, it might have been seeing the entire Snake Eyes/Stormshadow mysterious backstory told in horribly inelegant flashbacks all in one movie. Hard to say, really.

Now that Matt has read all the books along with Nat, the tag-team fury of two Potter-heads trying to review Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as the best film in the series before going on a tirade about the faithlessness of adaptation… well it might just blow your mind as much as it did ours.
In any event, we’ve never loved and hated a Potter film more than this one, so hit up YourGeeknews.com and give us YOUR thoughts, since we’re all the kind of geeks who were sitting there at 12:01 when the lights went down and the applause began!
