Were it not for the extenuating circumstances of Heath Ledger’s death mid-production and the just-in-time rescue by faces like Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp, Terry Gilliam’s gorgeous masterpiece of nonsensical visual splendour might not have been a must-see film… but since all that DID happen, we can’t help but recommend it, warts and all!

If you’re looking for a director who can completely erase stuffy, old British boredom, you don’t have to go any further than Guy Ritchie. And so giving him the reigns to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous Victorian detective seems like something of an inspired gamble. With Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law taking the roles of Holmes and Watson, and Canadian starlet Rachel McAdams playing a deliciously villainous love interest, the cast is as strong as the source material, but we’ll have to wait until Christmas to see what’s inside the packaging.

We were both impressed with what this sequel was able accomplish over the first film in the Twilight franchise. With better action, better acting, and better direction all around, New Moon gave both Nat as a Twilight veteran, and Matt as a noob, much more than we were expecting.

When a $15,000 indie film rakes in $7.1-million by being called the most terrifying film in years, it definitely gets our attention. So when Paranormal Activity had an exclusive screening in Toronto, we made sure we had tickets! And sure enough, we were treated to more than just horror… we got true terror. We review it spoiler free at first, so take an advanced look at what might be the scariest thing you’ll ever see!

Now that Matt has read all the books along with Nat, the tag-team fury of two Potter-heads trying to review Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as the best film in the series before going on a tirade about the faithlessness of adaptation… well it might just blow your mind as much as it did ours.
In any event, we’ve never loved and hated a Potter film more than this one, so hit up YourGeeknews.com and give us YOUR thoughts, since we’re all the kind of geeks who were sitting there at 12:01 when the lights went down and the applause began!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth story in the Harry Potter Anthology, is coming to the big screens after breaking the hearts of fans everywhere with a tragic (yet necessary) plot development in the book. And now we get to see all that nastiness come to life! Since being blown away by Order of the Phoenix, Matt has actually read all the books, and it’ll be interesting to see how opinions may change since our 2007 Review of the previous installment of Harry Potter.

We managed to check out Drag Me To Hell back at SXSW in March, and we LOVED it. Watching Sam Raimi return to the genre that he started in was magnificent, with all the jumps and laughs and wit that you’d expect from a classic Raimi horror film. Since we’ve already seen this one, for a change this episode will bring you a review along with exclusive scenes from the movie and interviews behind-the-scenes of Drag Me To Hell!
