THE EXPENDABLES PREVIEW: Testosterone, 80′s Action Style!
To bring together action stars from the 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and today for a film with wrestlers, MMA fighters, football players and governors, you need an actor/director/writer whose been a legend for at least the last 40 years… and nobody could do it like Sly. The Expendables looks like a super-violent throwback romp that is sure to have more character than anyone is expecting from the trailers… just look at the first Rambo movie!

Matt- The IMDb has answers to your questions about Seagal and JCVD:
“Steven Seagal was asked to play a cameo but turned it down due to negative connections with producer Avi Lerner.”
“Jean-Claude Van Damme was offered a role, but he turned it down claiming that there was no substance in the character.”
But great review. The only thing I kinda wish was that they had brought in Michael ParĂ© of “Streets of Fire”, “Eddie and The Cruisers” and “The Philadelphia Experiment” fame. Would have been a great little addition, maybe have him in a small role, being like the guy who supplies the Expendables their weaponry.
Overall, I’m interested. Can’t wait to check it out.

Surely Seagal would’ve also had scheduling conflicts because he is doing Machete with Robert Rodriguez

This weekend, it’s not “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” it’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. The Expendables.”
