IRONMAN 2 PREVIEW: Hammer? Whiplash? War Machine? Black Widow? Now THAT’s a Sequel!

John Favreau, Robert Downey Jr. and Gweneth Paltrow are back for the follow-up to Marvel’s incredible Ironman and joining them are Don Cheadle, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson to bring Tony Stark face-to-face with at least one more iron man of his own design: War Machine! Plus, his industrial nemesis Justin Hammer, S.H.I.E.L.D. Leader Nick Fury, the composite villain of Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo PLUS his seducer and betrayer from Ultimates, Black Widow. It’s anybody’s guess where this sequel will be going, but with a fanboy like Favreau in the driver’s seat, we just KNOW it’s going to be a ride we’re gonna love!

is somewhat boring the movie :( but well a dissapointment, don’t expect that much from the movie is not as good as the first one

Overall, the film is an above-average action movie. The film feels hallow with no substance, real story or plot, political/social commentary, or morality like the first one. Basically, it felt like this film was just made to set up the Avengers movie. As far as the newbies go, Mickey Rourke (who’s only Whiplash in the film) is on screen for maybe 20-25 min., Don Cheadle, whose relationship/feud with Stark feels forced and out of nowhere, is also in the film for maybe 20-25 min., and Black Widow has absolutely NO mystery about her. Oh, and she’s NOT Russian for some reason. So with a bland story, constant plot holes and ridiculous moments (on par with Spider-Man 3 ridiculous moments), Iron Man 2 is by far the biggest disappointment of the year. 6/10

Just back from watching Ironman 2. Have to say it was a great movie overall. There was some points where the plot didn’t quite fit perfectly but the feel and fun from the first movie is still there. Highly recommend it.

Just got back from the midnight IMAX screening… it was pretty awesome! Not as good as the first film but still it’s a definite must-see! M&N, if haven’t found out yet, there IS a special ending after the credits that you will just flip out over! Go see this movie!

Oh yeah, I stayed after the credits and was NOT impressed. That scene would’ve looked much better at night with lightning and more atmosphere or sumthin’!

**SPOILER ALERT!! DON’T READ FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANNA KNOW!!**

That hammer of Thor’s looked like a cheap plastic toy from Wal-Mart.
