IRONMAN 2 REVIEW: The Only Thing Better than 1 Ironman…
We were blown away by the first Ironman, and with the same creative team behind the sequel, we had high hopes going into part 2. The drama, action and comedy were all firing on all cylinders and it didn’t take long for us to realize we were in an Ironman film! Long live the Ironmen!

While I agree with some things you mentioned, I don’t agree that this is that much of a worthy sequel. IM2 is considerably weaker that IM1, most notably because of its over-the-top style and feel. That’s what bugged me the most.

There’s no shenanigans with Rhodey in the Mark II with an arc reactor. Each suit has it’s own reactor at this point. Tony has a tux covering his reactor when the Mark IV has one at the beginning, the Mark V has it’s own, and whenever that showed the hall of armor, each suit had a reactor in the chest. It means he doesn’t have to have an underpowered suit and can use older suits in an emergency.

Great review guys.
BTW, Matt, I finally got a chance to see “Six Reasons Why.” It invoked my memories of “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”, “Rashomon” and Stephen King’s novel “The Gunslinger.” Great job to both you and your brother Jeff. I can’t wait to check out the next one.

I almost forgot: If you guys think that suitcase armor is awesome, how about a replica of it being made from Rubbermaid plastic? I kid you not. There are two guys over at the Replica Prop Forum who are working on it. In fact, the first guy actual posted the templates for any budding armor makers to try if they want to. Here’s the link so you can check out the works in progress shots (and man, they are interesting): http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=84259

I was never a big follower of Iron Man the comic, although the first movie was fantastic (I haven’t seen this one yet). But if they do make a 3rd one, did you guys have a particular villain in mind? The only one I’m really aware of is the Mandarin.

The only problem I have with this movie is that they pulled a Katie Holmes/Maggie G in that they recasted Don Cheadle in Terrence Howard’s role which has a much bigger part in this movie than the first. I can’t stand when sequels do this and I think Terrence Howard was perfect for the role whereas Don Cheadle just doesn’t seem to fit the character.
