As part one of an epic two-part finale for what might be remembered as the most holistically completed movie franchise in the history of film, whether you’re a Harry Potter fan or not, this movie is a bit of a big deal. Directed by two-time Potter veteran David Yates and starring everybody that it should be starring, the only question in our minds is which point in J.K. Rowling’s book will Part 1′s cliffhanger ending fall, making us wait until summer 2011 for the grand conclusion!?

Mere words can’t encapsulate the travesty of film that is Skyline. Between abysmal acting, impossible-to-like characters, atrocious dialogue and a story that spends all its time going nowhere, Matt thinks there’s no reason to waste your time other than to see a bigscreen rehash of effects you’ve already enjoyed more in other movies. But Nat even loved the WTF ending sober, so maybe you will, too.

By all rights, Paranormal Activity 2 is better than the first. It has more characters, more interesting characters, better camera work, cooler effects, even better sound design and a bigger, more impressive story. But somehow, just doesn’t measure up to the visceral experience of watching the first one. We’ve already had this experience and it was called Paranormal Activity. That doesn’t mean we didn’t jump out of our seats and lose some popcorn watching this bad boy. It packs a spook.

The cast of RED could have all phoned in their performances, and it still would have been some of the finest acting that the action genre has ever seen. Toss in Helen Mirren firing an artillery canon, and this baby is worth catching in the theatre for sure! Just don’t go in expecting to see the Warren Ellis comics on the big screen.

With a cast like Bruce WIllis, Morgan Freeman, Richard Dreyfus, John Malkovich, Ernest Borgnine and Helen Mirren, there’s really no other reason needed to go see this one immediately. But the fact that it’s based on a comicbook from the mind of the iconic Warren Ellis just puts this baby over the top!

Adapted from a book that’s loosely based on Facebook’s amazing rise to ubiquity, The Social Network has a lot more going for it as a film than it does as a history lesson. But Matt & Nat both agree that this is a must-see film, even if it doesn’t quite fill the big-screen at the multiplex. So if you don’t have the time or cash to catch it in the theatre, you can forgive yourself for watching it on your TV, iPad or PSP.

In the last decade, few filmmakers have had so epic a rise and monumental a fall as Shyamalan in the eyes of the movie going public. But with Devil, he shows signs of having removed his head from his arse, and has become part of a filmmaking team, in order to have another director and writer collaborate with him to tell a surprisingly great Shyamalan story for the first time in years.

When Robert Rodriguez had people more excited about a bogus trailer from 2007 than they were about the sequel to Sin City, he knew he owed it to us to make us a full-length Mexploitation b-movie starring Danny Trejo called Machete. And with that as his goal and Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal and Robert DeNiro on board, he does NOT disappoint!
