Great review guys. LOL Looks like Matt would survive a “terror” movie.

  2. Taquito Says:

Nat’s face was more terrifying than the actual ending.

Was I only only person that found the swinging back and forth funny?

Don’t know if we watched the same thing but this movie is not scary, I prefer the Japanese production over this. I’ve seen reactions of the people in the movie theater in your review, and it’s all girlfriends jumpin on their dates and boyfriends like little 5 yearold girlies. Oh hold me it’s so scary, like it’s happening to her and not on the screen. You people exagerate just like you did in the review of Wolverine Origins.

You guys are so wrong!!! This is a complete waste of time and money it’s not scary in the least. The people you see scared in the theather in the trailer are paid to acted that way. This movie good god i can’t believe i just called this piece of crap a movie is the most boring bland over hyped retarded waste of time and money I have seen yet this year and that’s saying something when going against Wolverine Origins and Star Trek which both suck big time.

i am disappointed with this film it is nothing that it has been made out to be on the advertisements i was really looking forward to a ’scary’ film but this is not it’s let me down alot it should be titled not with horror or whatever it’s more like something you watch on the discovery channel or something I’ve seen this, and myself a 16 year old girl who is yet to see a film that makes you jump and do what they did on the advertisement well i did look forward to it . it didn’t even send a thrill to my spine so i don’t know what the people in the cinema on the advertisement was watching but the way they were acting it sure wasn’t this. well just my opinion but I’m sure others will agree. But if any one knows of a proper scary film please let me know .

wow you guy’s are fallin off bigtime this was quite possibly the worst movie I have seen all year and that’s saying alot terrifying Ha LMAO at that not even once did I even flinch are u sure you saw the same movie I did… the Exorcist still beats the crap outta this

  9. Antony Says:

Guys this films is crap!! How much did they paid you for this review??? For everyone: don’t pay money for it…

  10. Geeks Says:

Easy there, Antony… we NEVER get paid for reviews, for two geeks who do this out of the love of film and community that’s not really even a funny thing to joke about.

In any event, people are obviously pretty split on this film, but I think it comes down to the theatre you’re in, and the mood of that crowd. Where we watched it, everyone was so into it, the terror was infectious. It was incredible. Obviously your experience wasn’t as good as ours, and that’s a shame… it really is an amazing film when the mood is right.

well said, matt… i saw it in a great crowd, scared the shit outta me. i feel bad for anyone that get’s a less than stellar viewing experience on this one, because it was truly unique.

    i blame the kids.

  12. David Gale Says:

Is this review a joke if you watch this film you will bored you to death not scared to death as lead to belive. And as for its claim that it is real footage then it begs the question why are their two versions of the film out with different endings.

  13. Heath Says:

The whole thing’s a fake David Gale. Do your research first before you make another hate comment towards the film.

  14. BrashHulk Says:

I wholeheartedly agree with Matt’s response to Antony earlier. The movie-going experience is SO much more than just sitting in your seat and munching on popcorn while the film rolls. I sharply remember two examples of what Matt references about crowd energy and being INTO the movie: “A Nightmare on Elm Street” in ‘84 and “The Blair Witch Project” in ‘99. In both instances, the atmosphere in the theater was electric and the crowd was intensely focused on the film. Everything worked: the shocks, the tension, the beats, the scares… and they were nights at the theater that I’ll never forget. In both instances, I grabbed people the next day and said, “You HAVE to see this movie – let’s go!” And again, in both instances, the second showings were with lackluster crowds and it felt like watching shlock on the screen. The heightened experience and the thrill of the first viewings made the films seem MUCH better than what they were.

As moviegoers, we LIVE for those evenings where we get sucked into the film and suspend our disbelief to the point where we actually forget not only that we’re in a theater watching a movie, but that we’re in OUR world and not the one on the screen. Unfortunately, I saw “Paranormal Activity” at a barely-attended weekday matinee, and there was no magic to be felt that day. I found the movie to be interesting enough to hold my attention, but I couldn’t get into it the way that I wanted – especially after hearing some of the rave reviews. Maybe next time!

  15. Heath Says:

I saw it at the Alamo Drafthouse and there was barely people in the theatre but enough to call an audience. Even though there wasn’t a lot of people, the movie still scared the frak out of me. I think you have to be in the right mood to see this movie in order for it’s magic to work. I don’t know, I guess you either hate it or you love it. Same thing happened with Blair Witch, it’ll surely happen again with Paranormal Activity. You’ll see… You’ll see!!!

  16. Heath Says:

Finally saw this movie and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good deal of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But it does leave you hanging with a cliffhanger and you kind of wished that this would be an origin story but besides those little flaws, I’d recommend it to anyone who either is a fan of Holmes or Downey, Jr. or is still trying his or her best to buy a ticket to Avatar.

    3 out of 4 Stars.
