Did you guys see The Last Airbender? I hate to say this but it is GOD-AWFUL!!! It makes the Twilight series look BUTCH in comparison! One of the worst sits I had put up with in a movie theatre in my entire life, it is that bad!
Most times I would tell you to review these kinds of films whether they are good or bad but this one will have to make the exception. I BEG you two, Matt and Nat, to not see this movie! You have no idea how bad of a film this is! This isn’t Transformers 2-bad or Southland Tales-horrendous; no, this movie is pure evil…
DON’T SEE THE LAST AIRBENDER!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! SAVE YOURSELVES THE TIME AND MONEY!!!!

I hate to say it Heath, but Nat and I both saw the Last Airbender on Friday and we BOTH enjoyed the hell out of it! I’m a big fan of the series, and so saw it from an adaptation standpoint, and Nat’s never done anything but read the Wiki on it, and she got as much out of it as I did… our review is on its way, but first, our Twilight Review!

Well I thought the Last Airbender was alright….nothing to right home about mind you, but compared to The Lady in the Water (terrible) and The Happening (so bad it was comical) The Last Airbender was pretty good…pretty… pretty…. pretty good.
All Curb your Enthusiasm references aside, I am just looking forward to this review, NOT because I am a huge twilight hater and want to see it torn apart (I just think the books are largely over-rated and the ending of the last one was hugely disapointing) but because I want to see your take on it. I thought the movie was pretty good all things considering, I did think it was funny how a lot of twilight fans who went to see it, hated the movie because it “wasn’t like the book.” I am surprised that with all the Harry Potter/ twilight films, people haven’t figured out the main point of movie adtapations of books is to capture the heart and soul of the film. It doesn’t need to have enverything or be 100% accurate to the original story. Whatever, that is just my opinion though…
Oh and I am going to go see Preditors today…which is actually getting pretty good reviews, except for Roger Ebert, but whatever….I hope you two will review Preditors because it is shaping up to be almost as cool as Aliens was. Besides, with Robert “Sin City” Rodriguez at the helm…what could go wrong?

Just got back from Predators and good news: It’s friggin’ awesome!

You guys HAVE to see Inception. I was lucky enough to get into an early screening and I gotta say, it is one of the best films I’ve ever seen!Christopher Nolan truly outdid himself. It has an amazing plot, great acting, and the visuals are absolutely stunning. I could go on and on, but I think you all should just see it for yourselves. Please, please review it! I’d love to hear what you thought!
I haven’t seen Eclipse, but I’m pretty sure it will pale in comparison to Nolan’s film. All the same, I’m looking forward to your review!

well, now that the Mississauga Independent Film Festival (http://MIFF.ca) is wrapped up for another year, I can get back to my editing duties on Your Geek News… We have a Twilight and a Last Airbender review that we shot when they both came out, but now I actually have time to put them together.
After those, it’s Predators and Inception!
Lots to see and talk about with you on its way

Hey Matt,
I know this is something from a long time ago, but I recently watched the first “Iron Man” movie and figured out how Rhodes was able to use the Mark II suit in the fight between him and Tony in “Iron Man 2.” And it’s really the simplest thing. If you recall in the first “Iron Man,” Tony uses the “icing problem” to temporarily disengage the Iron Monger. Though there was a countdown of how much power the Iron Man suit was draining from the Mark I Arc Reactor and Tony was way up in the air, the suit had a reserve power supply that Tony used to get back down to the top of the Stark Industries building. If his Mark III suit had the backup power supply, it could be possible that the Mark II suit also had a backup power supply (seriously, I think anyone who’d engineer a suit like that would have considered a backup power supply for such a suit). So, that’s how Rhodes was able to use the Mark II suit without an arc reactor for his fight with Tony in the second film.
Funny thing, really… when I heard JARVIS state that the suit was on reserve power, I couldn’t help but remember the comment you made about Rhodes and Tony’s fight, even after months since the movie came out and the review was done.

Hey just in response to the whole Jasper being younger then Edward thing: in New Moon they say that Jasper is new to being a ‘vegetarian’ vampire not that he was turned after Edward. Because the movie really cuts into the full details of the back story, we missed Jasper explaining to Bella that he only meets up with Alice about 100 years after he was turned and then she brings them to the Cullens. So since Jasper spent such a long time feeding on humans, and has only had a short amount of time in comparison to adapt to animal blood, the scent of Bella’s blood made him react to the temptation, similar to someone giving an alcoholic a beer. Loved the review I just had to make the distinction.
On the topic of Jackson Rathbourne’s Texas accent (which is supposed to be there for Jasper, he’s was a Major in the Confederate army in Texas; it just wasn’t played up in the previous movies, same with Carlisle’s) he has the same one playing Sokka in the Last Airbender.
